Was a viral site sent a year or so ago, lass said she was going to kill herself on cam at midnight, proper gothic shit. Had a week's countdown and when she got to 00:00:00 she held up a sign saying "lol made u look" - had 12,000 people viewing!! sick bastards

But this is fucked up. My condolences to his family, and shame on the kid for being so inconsiderate towards them. Suicide is bad enough, but practically making the family a target for the media is awful.

Yeah, went by the name CandyJunkie on some bodybuilding forum.

He actually made a thread saying he was going to kill himself and linked to a live feed. (Bodybuilding.com Forums) I'm quite aware that the thread doesn't work now but it did the other day when I was reading it.

Some members egged him on but to be fair - he had a history of creating threads saying he was going to kill himself or take so & so amount of pills. Of course people didn't take him seriously. It wasn't until after he was laying in bed for a few hours and they realized it wasn't a loop that they took it seriously.

Some members gathered his information and tired to make phone calls. One guy was from India and I believe he went to a place that allowed him to make international calls so he could call the police. Other members freaked out and didn't really know what to say or do.

The seemed to have removed all traces of the videos but I know there was one video that Danny & I watched. It was only a minute long and you could see him laying in bed, then you see wood (from the door being kicked in) flying and landing on him. Next thing you see a gun & the police/ambulance in there. Then they covered the webcam.

There was a massive thread on 2+2 (big poker forum) that I use as it was happening from some dude that used the forum.

Pretty sick stuff. On the second page of the thread a member posts a screenshot of a PM he sent to moderator telling him to ******** it and alert the police in the guys area (as he has access to his IP I guess) The moderator replies saying "nah he's just an attention whore, you should see some of the other threads that he makes". Then when everyone realised it was for real he still refused to do anything. The guy was still breathing for hours after he OD'd and no one rang the police until a guy from fucking India finally managed to make an international call. Pathetic really.

I'd feel so guilty right now if I was one of the many posters who were literally egging him on and telling him different ways to do it etc...

It was actually a girl mod. When she realized what was going on, the only reason she didn't do anything was because another moderator had already alerted the Administrators. What else was she meant to do? She also apologized about it all.

You can't blame her though. What if CrispyCracker came back and said he had cancer? Most people wouldn't believe him and would probably flame him too.

Part of me wonders if the kid was expecting to be "rescued" before it went too far in which case he was incredibly stupid to think so, another part feels real sorry for his family for having to deal with that, suicide is bad enough but to actually broadcast it knowing the people close to you may see it is pretty harsh....

I think i just actually regained a bit of respect for you after that post, fair play to you.
