Default should i get a hamster?

i played with one yesterday and it was sooo nice! i had one a while back but it bit me like 10 times, so i kinda stopped caring about it and it got wet tail. it was evil, but it was also a male, so that may have something to do with it. plus it was a regular hamster. the kind i want is a Siberian dwarf hamster. i REALLY want to get one, because the one i played with yesterday was so sweet & it was a girl, which was probably the reason why. they're so cute!

do you know if males tend to be more protective that females? because with my old hamster, the first day i had it, i would put my finger in the cage, not even touching him, and he would bite me!

I used to have a hamster when I was about 7 or 8. Males are less likely to bite than females. And Siberian dwarf hamsters tend to bite a lot and are not very good at keeping themselves clean.

Keep in mind that they live for 3-4 years, and you're 13 now. It may seem cool having a hamster at that age, but will you really want one when you're 16-17?

I had a Syrian hamster who looked like this:

He was the business.

My mate who's 18 got two hamsters earlier this year, they're well cute. Smaller than normal hammys too.

I used to have them when I was a lot younger, had 3 in my life time, they were awesome. Although I discovered one dead in the morning and it had read lumps coming out from its bum.. That was.. weird.

Get some. They're awzum

....it has to get used to you first, ROFL LMAO. my old gerbil used to nip a little but after i gave him wine, he was fine. of course if you stick your bloody fingers in the cage he's going to kill u

grow the fuck up rich.

and, anyway, it needs to get used to you first. my old gerbil used to nip a little, but once he got used to me he was fine. of course if you stick your bloody fingers in the cage he's going to bite you.

They are nocturnal...

I gave mine to my girlfriends younger brother because he kept me awake at night and I work early in the morning.

Not all of them will be friendly "out-of-the-box"

You can train them to get used to you, buy treats and put them in the palm of your hand and let him walk onto your palm to get the treat. Do this at around the same time every day.

They are really irritating. I had one a couple years ago, and it was incredibly annoying with it noisily on the wheel ONLY at night. Cleaning the cage wasn't fun either.

You are meant to hold your fingers together and lower your hand into the cage, and let the hamster explore your hand first, then when it climbs onto it, you can slowly take it out of the cage but leave room for the hamster to jump off if it likes - but obviously not once out of the cage

just get a manual thing from the pet shop.

Oh, girl name. Uhhh, Yoshi is alright since you're 12 or 13.

I can't even remember the name of my hamster, and I think he only died last year.

Deliyosh could sound like.. DELICIOUS!

Mmm.. Hamsters!

Oh yeah, don't ever let them escape in your room. Bloody things love hiding under beds.

Call it Yoshi, even if it's not a green dinosaur. Delilah is a terrible name for a hamster, or call it SPEEDY! Like the one in recess.

BORKED

Jesus I haven't watched recess in years
